  • What makes Cress sustainable?

    You can make money and do good. Cress puts an end to the bin bags in the attic, the
    pile-ups of hand-me downs, the never worn and the never wanted. There’s more life and adventure in the clothes our children wear. Through a seller’s profile, parents can easily create new household revenue streams through sorting and selling the pieces that could have ended up in landfill.

  • That all sounds good but what're you doing about it?

    Standing for something means more than talking about change. We are proactive in finding solutions for the problems (and disasters) created by fast fashion, particularly the impact of children’s clothes. We track and measure the impact of the work we do to support and educate changing attitudes towards shopping online.

  • What about all of those carbon emissions caused by the postage and delivery?

    We know that no one is perfect but research does suggests the carbon emissions created by getting an item delivered to you from an online store rather than traveling to the shops is 5 times lower.

    Also don’t forget the additional environmental savings from buying something second hand rather than new. A plain cotton t-shirt requires roughly 3000 litres of water to make!

    Cress Sustainable-New is an online marketplace for all sustainable and eco-friendly kids clothing brands and products. We partner with sustainable UK brands making it easier to find plastic-free and sustainable alternatives to fast fashion.

    Use of Eco-Friendly Materials: The clothing should be made from organic, recycled, upcycled, or sustainably sourced materials that minimise harm to the environment.

     

    Ethical Manufacturing: The clothing should be produced under fair labour conditions, ensuring safe and ethical practices throughout the supply chain.

     

    Non-Toxic and Safe: The clothing should be free from harmful chemicals, toxins, and dyes that could pose a risk to children’s health or the environment.

     

    Energy Efficiency: The business should strive to minimise energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions during the manufacturing and production processes.

     

    Packaging and Shipping: The business should prioritise eco-friendly packaging materials and opt for carbon-neutral shipping methods to minimise their environmental impact.
